Theta Chi Alphas

On September 18th, 1971 the local organization Theta Chi Alpha became the Eta Zeta chapter of the national fraternnity Theta Chi.

The founding fathers of what would become the Eta Zeta chapter were a group of friends who lived in Reeder Hall and called themselves the 'Reeder Rats'. They formed a local fraternity known as Theta Chi Alpha in 1968. Theta Chi Alpha's colors were Black and Blue, said to be inspired by the bruises they got while playing intramural basketball. After rapid growth as a local fraternity the members petitioned to become a chapter of a national organization.

Founding FathersThrough the years the chapter has had over 300 members and has the most active Alumni organizaion of all of Edinboro's Fraternities. For 40 years the chapter has held its annual Summer Party on the 3rd full weekend of July and always has a large showing for Homecoming.
